Wandrer.earth was originally created as an app to help Atlanta non-profits find pickable fruit trees to donate to food banks and homeless shelters. But, as they spent time wandering the city, they discovered many new and interesting places and neighborhoods. They thought: how can we use this to knowledge to challenge people to take an unfamiliar path? To explore more? And discover more?
We use Wandrer to challenge ourselves to explore more by bike. We find unfamiliar routes through familiar places. We drum up friendly competition to see who can cover the most new miles. Yes, there’s even a Leaderboard and a Big Map that tracks every road you’ve ridden across the globe.
It’s free, but for $30 a year you get a couple extra features.
Check it out. We’ve become a bit, umm, addicted.
