National Alliance on Mental Health is the largest grassroots mental health association in the country, with over 600 affiliates and 49 state organizations. Started in 1979, they quickly grew to be become leader in mental health advocacy, support and public awareness.
Why do we choose NAMI as one of the organizations we are supporting? A couple reasons. First, we talked to a number of professionals in the mental health space and NAMI was the organization that came up most frequently. Secondly, their reach and size. When it comes to influencing public policy, events and awareness, size matters.
